Tenure-track Position in Kinesiology – McGill University

The Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education (http://www.mcgill.ca/edu-kpe/), housed in the Faculty of Education at McGill University invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, effective August 1, 2012.

We are seeking an individual with research expertise in neurosciences who will be able to contribute to the department’s international reputation through involvement in a new Research Center for Physical Activity and Health. Preference will be given to candidates with a research emphasis on neural plasticity as it relates to preventing or reducing impairments in motor function associated with aging and disease, and whose interests complement and extend existing research activities. A common research theme in the department is the relation between physical activity and health. This is currently being investigated from several different perspectives including psychosocial determinants of participation in health behaviors, clinical exercise physiology and neuromechanics of movement. Current research in the department is conducted primarily with human subjects.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated research track record and will be expected to teach in the areas of motor development and motor disorders at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise Master’s and Doctoral students and obtain external funding for research.
